Manhattan Information Systems was founded in 1975, the genesis of the data processing era, to provide New York City businesses the latest information on technology products and premium services. We sold office supplies, calculators and dictation equipment. Although conservative by nature, we were always on the lookout for the newest technologies being offered in the marketplace. Today, Manhattan is a leading provider of end-to-end IT solutions in the Northeast.
MIS received HP’s financial and scientific calculators authorization in 1978; officially making us the oldest HP reseller in the country! In 1984, another first was bestowed upon us: an IBM medallion, which up until that point, had only been issued to retail storefront operations. MIS was the first corporation to receive an IBM medallion, thus allowing us to sell PCs directly to end users. Our success flourished in 1987 when we became Compaq authorized, and this HP/Compaq business is the foundation of our successful hardware sales today.
In the early ’90s, MIS introduced services to our line card. We began by offering help desk and break fix contracts to our customers. This has evolved into the successful, multi-layered managed services platform we provide today. Our qualified engineering team offers comprehensive network design, integration and implementation services. MIS also retains many elite authorizations with a number of premier manufacturers in the industry.
